Nursing Assistant

 Daily Tasks

Works under the supervision of a registered nurse to assist with the care of people of all age groups. Assists with activities of daily living, promoting the highest practical level of physical, mental and psychosocial well-being.

Communications skills, positive personality, human relations skills, multitasking, self-motivated, ability to work independently, ability to work with a team, professional image, respect diversity, flexibility, honesty and caring attitude toward people.
 Work Setting
Hospital, long term care facility or home care.
 Work Hours
Varied schedule including day, evening and night shifts, along with weekend and holiday hours.
High school diploma or GED required, and nursing assistant registration certification or willingness to take nursing assistant class or test out for nursing assistant registration within four months of hire.
A working knowledge of state and federal regulations as well as previous experience with geriatric population preferred.
 Recommended High School Classes

General computer applications, food and nutrition, health education, exploration of health careers, anatomy or physiology, biology, algebra, and a second language.
