Home Health Assistant

 Daily Tasks
Works under the supervision of a registered nurse to support and assist patients with basic daily activities to maintain independence; reports and documents changes in patients' condition.
Communications skills, positive personality, human relations skills, multitasking, self-motivated, ability to work independently, ability to work with a team, professional image, respect diversity, flexibility, honesty and caring attitude towards people.
 Work Setting
Long-term care facility or home care.
 Work Hours
Varied schedule including day, evening and night shifts, along with weekend and holiday hours.
High school diploma or GED is required. Nursing assistant registration and home health aide certification required.
Previous experience with the geriatric population is preferred.
 Recommended High School Classes
General computer applications, food and nutrition, health education, exploration of health careers, anatomy/physiology, biology, algebra and a second language
