College Undergraduate Career Observation

Eligibility: Students enrolled in a college undergraduate program and have not graduated.

Note: Graduates of a college undergraduate program are not eligible for this program. As a Visiting Professional (non-student and non-MD health professional), you would need to seek your own department contact to inquire and process your observation request. Contacts can be found on Mayo Clinic Department and Centers.

What is it?

The Mayo Clinic College Undergraduate Observation program empowers all Mayo Clinic staff (all sites) to host a college student on-site to observe their career, work unit, and Mayo Clinic values first hand. This real world exposure aims to help the student confirm their area of study is the one they wish to pursue post-graduation.

How to apply

1. Determine eligibility and review guidelines.

2. Find a department staff host and request observation. Visit Departments and Centers to find a contact. Note: Students must network to find their own contact.

3. Complete Compliance Training prior to submitting the College Undergraduate Career Observation Application to staff host for processing.

4. Department staff host sends the student observation confirmation details.

5. Arrive on-campus at department confirmed location for Career Observation!

Mayo Clinic Staff hosting a student can visit Mayo Clinic HR Connect (portal access via Mayo Clinic intranet home page) and search "College Observation" to find all steps and resources for hosting a College Undergraduate student.
