Surgical Core Technician

 Daily Tasks
Performs delegated activities and tasks to support the operating room team. The surgical core technician prepares and delivers medical/surgical supplies, instruments and equipment for surgical procedures. Technicians also clean, package, inventory and store surgical equipment and instrumentation.
Adapts to unpredictable situations, communications skills, interpersonal skills, attention to detail, positive personality, human relations skills, multitasking, self-motivated, ability to work with a team, professional image, respect diversity, honesty and caring attitude towards people.
 Work Setting
Surgical core.
 Work Hours
Primarily day shifts or day evening, Monday-Friday, with some on-call requirements. Overtime is mandatory.
High school graduate or GED. Successful completion of a vocational program for patient care assistants or equivalent education/work experience.
Instrument technician certification preferred. Maintain basic life support competency.

Computer applications, heath education, healthcare sciences, biology, chemistry, algebra and geometry
