Nuclear medicine technologists (NMTs) use radioactive materials, called radiopharmaceuticals, to create images of organs, study body functions, analyze biological specimens and treat disease. NMTs prepare the radiopharmaceuticals, administer them to patients, conduct imaging scans and process and enhance the images on a computer.
